As I was Moving Ahead

The art of constant motion
Of slipping almost unnoticed through life
In place of a memory
Formed from each exchange
Overlapping and never pausing
There's a comfort in finding somewhere alike
Despite unknown words paired
With the unfamiliar faces of strangers
It is not so dissimilar
And it’s nice, simply existing
A sense of belonging comes with being elsewhere
Finding solace in being misplaced
I value my freedom too much to return to what I know
How does one go from that to this
And willingly circle back around again?
The freedom that feels so liberating to surrender yourself to
Can in turn become a restraint
The limitless nature of autonomy becoming a self inflicted loneliness
Impermanence of a time and place
Patiently waiting in anticipation of next time
Craving the feeling of displacement
Momentum sparing us the weight of longing
Hidden behind a desperation to be elsewhere
Perhaps an unfulfilling obsession
A compilation of finite moments
Placeholders until one reaches an end
Fade in music for an exit
And I shall do so silently without witness
